A 68 year old man was riding a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 650 east on Northeast 195th in Woodinville shortly before 9 a.m. Friday. He was turning left onto northbound Woodinville-Snohomish Road, crossing the intersection, when he suddenly dumped his motorcycle, striking his head. A 2004 Jeep Liberty was driving westbound on North Woodinville Way, also crossing the intersection. He slid into the Jeep, which immediately stopped, the King County Sheriff’s office reported.
There is no indication that the two vehicles actually hit each other in the report. The motorcycle rider was reported as wearing a helmet. Unfortunately, when Medical Units arrived at the scene they declared the rider dead.
The Jeep was driven by a 17-year-old boy from Woodinville. He was not injured in the accident.
The deceased’s name has not been released. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
Our condolences go out to the family of the motorcyclist.
