Man Killed in Weekend Snowmobile Accident

Snowmobile AccidentJoseph Weigelt, 49, was snowmobiling with two other people along a trail in the Brushy Creek area just outside of Lake Wenatchee at about 2:30 p.m. when he lost control of the machine and hit a tree, Chelan County Sheriff’s spokesperson Jerry Moore said.

Medical responders pronounced Weigelt dead at the scene.

Detectives continue to investigate, but it appears speed was a factor in the crash, Moore said

Weigelt was snowmobiling in a popular snow park in the area. “We had minor injuries there this season, but nothing like this,” Moore said.

Our condolences go out to the family.

Snowmobiles are more powerful than many people know. They are constructed to take rough terrain at considerably high speeds, but their ability to maneuver at higher speeds leave something to be desired.

If you or someone you know are injured in a snowmobile accident or are killed in a snowmobile accident then some of the best advice you can give is to find legal representation right away. Call Phillips Webster today to find out what your legal options are.
