Passenger Paralyzed in Bremerton Speeding Accident; Driver Suffers Broken Bones

Two men were driving at a high speed down Union Avenue in Bremerton Monday night when he lost control, slammed into a metal power pole, and came to a spinning stop.

The identification of the men has not yet been released by authorities.

Both of the men were taken to a local hospital.

The driver, a 21 year-old from Silverdale, suffered a broken ankle along with cuts and bruises and has since been released from the hospital, police said.

The passenger, a 22 year old from Tacoma, was airlifted to Haborview Medical Canter with critical injuries. He has been reported by hospital officials to be paralyzed from the chest down.
