Yesterday was a bad day for a driver in West Seattle when they collided with a police officer driving around in his cruiser, reported the Seattle Police.
There were two people in the car which was taking a left on Delridge Way SW and SW Holden Street when the collision happened. The on-duty police officer was the only occupant of the Police cruiser.
All three were transported by ground to Harborview Medical Center where they were listed in satisfactory condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Delridge Way was shut down last night for much of the evening and even buses were rerouted. The street was opened for the morning commute. Traffic Collision Investigation Squad detectives continue to actively investigate.
Who caused the accident has not been reported by the SPD as of this report.
When a driver collides with a city vehicle or commercial vehicle it can be serious. The city usually spends a little more of its resources investigating the situation and protect itself from litigation. That is why the driver also needs to legally protect themselves.
