Corporate Jet Pins Injured Worker In Truck at Boeing Field

airplane accidentA Grumman G-1159 Turbo jet, a small jet made by Rolls Royce that is generally used for corporate transport, was taxiing for takeoff at Boeing Field when its wing clipped the Galvin Flying Services truck just before 7 p.m., shattering the driver-side window and pinning the driver in the vehicle.

Boeing Field Rescue crews were forced to cut off the roof of the tanker to free the driver. The employee in the truck appeared to be conscious. He was rushed to Harborview Medical Center with chest injuries.

Boeing officials said the small passenger plane was preparing to take off when the airplane accident occurred. It is not known how many people were on board, but no one on the airplane was injured.

The fixed-wing, multi-engine plane is registered to JetStar Air, Inc. in Beverly Hills, California. It had flown in from Van Nuys, California via Vancouver, B.C. earlier Thursday.

Federal Aviation Administration officials said they plan to interview the pilot and that the cause of the plane crash has not yet been determined.

Serious injuries happen frequently when there are large machines working in close proximity. Generally it is due to human error. And though it is not deliberate that doesn’t exonerate the business or contractor involved from liability.

workers compensation This employee’s life was put in jeopardy and suffered a serious injury on the job. Workers compensation is the first step to assuring that the worker is fully recovered. It is then up to the company that owns the plane to compensate for their mistake to ease the worker’s pain and suffering and assure that they make a full recovery.

If you or someone you know is injured on the job, the company you work for and their insurance provider has lawyers on their side to look after their best interest, which is generally assuring that the worker uses the least amount of resources possible for their recovery.
