A 37-year-old Bellevue man was speeding his Dodge Ram truck eastbound on 520 in Seattle at about 1:30 am this morning. He took the exit to West Lake Sammamish Parkway way too fast, lost control of the truck, and rolled it several times. When the truck settled on its wheels, he panicked, and ran from the scene. There was no one else in the truck, the State patrol says
When police showed up they called a canine unit. The dog help police track the man to the Microsoft Campus where they promptly arrested him.
The State Patrol said the man had head injuries, hand and arm injuries, and was extremely intoxicated.
He was first taken to Overlake Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries and then he was taken by police to be processed for DUI.
The truck was totaled.
A DUI driver at any speed is a detriment to society. A DUI driver at a high speed is a killing machine. The man luckily did not get the opportunity to go into side streets and residential areas where families and property can be hurt or destroyed.
