Property Damage Lawyer – BMW Crashes into Car Parts Store in Spokane

It happened at about 11:15 Wednesday night in the parking lot of the Auto Zone located at 7306 N. Division.

According to police, a group of people were hanging out next to their cars in front Aspen Sound, a car and home audio business and the proud provider of window rattling car stereos. Mark Becker, 32, jumped inside of his older red BMW and show off.

During the high risk and small reward scenario, Becker proceeded to perform donuts in the parking lot. As Becker was mid-donut, his throttle became stuck. This caused the car to surge forward, out of control, and crash through the front of the Auto Zone.

When police arrived they found the car lodged halfway into the store. The front of the store is mostly glass, so the crash did a significant amount of damage.

Officers say they receive numerous complaints every month from neighbors who say people loiter and drive recklessly in the parking lot.

Becker was not injured in the property damage accident. Police charged him with reckless driving. Though that is merely a misdemeanor, it may give him pause to contemplate what other 32 year-olds are doing at 11:30 pm on a Wednesday and perhaps give him a reflective moment of self realization…or perhaps not.

The business owner now needs to go through the hassle of insurance and may experience decreased sales as a result of this accident as his storefront may be boarded up and may have experienced wider structural damage.
