Head Injury

When there has been trauma to the brain or skull, it can be referred to as either a head injury or traumatic brain injury (TBI), often used interchangeably.  Potentially life-threatening, even victims of seemingly slight injury will require close observation as severe symptoms may appear later on.  Some victims stabilize relatively quickly and some deteriorate.

Head injuries are complex as they can have effects that vary from person to person and depend on things like cause and location of the injury.
