Katie received her undergrad degree in Mass Communications from Walla Walla University and her law degree from the University of Washington. In undergrad she was chosen to join national communication honor society Lambda Pi Eta; she was also member of the school’s improv team for all four years. While in law school she was elected to serve on the Student Bar Association as the American Bar Association Representative and as a 3L Class Representative.
Katie has been active in pro bono work. In law school she was the Garrison Fellow and Outreach Coordinator for the Immigrant Families Advocacy project, which advocates for immigrant survivors of domestic violence. She was also selected to be a quality reviewer for the Rural Alaskan Tax Assistance Program and spent time in Quinhagak, AK assisting native Alaskans with their federal income taxes.
Prior to joining the PLF team, Katie worked in legal aid, civil litigation, and workers compensation law. Before entering the legal field, she did marketing and recruiting professionally. In her free time, Katie enjoys reading science fiction, attending her husband’s musical performances, and crafting. Katie is a member of the Washington State Bar association.
